Today human beings were born, and human beings died. Today kids did math. Tired people got up and went to work. Today songwriters wrote songs. Musicians played complicated and beautiful notes. Broken-hearted mothers cried. Today people made gourmet meals, and people burned toast.
Today laughter broke out all over. Uncontrollable giggles and horse-y guffaws and roaring bellows of happiness. Babies threw spaghetti on the floor. Today shaggy-headed boys got haircuts.
Boyfriends bought engagement rings. Families ate hamburgers. Today sports fans talked about football. Friends reconciled. Mothers did laundry. Dads worked on science projects that are due tomorrow. Today girls were kissed for the first time. Grandmothers rocked sweet smelling babies. Driveway basketball games broke out. Tender young actors took to the stage.
Life goes on.
