Today I saw a picture on my Facebook newsfeed that said something like, “Sometimes the nicest people have tattoos and the most judgmental people go to church.” This statement is so true. And, so is this one: sometimes the biggest jerks have tattoos and the most amazing people go to church. And, so is this one: sometimes the most incredible people have tattoos and go to church. And, so is this one: some of the nicest people don’t have tattoos and don’t go to church.
People are people. There are great and noble and wonderful people with all kinds of haircuts and clothing styles, economic statuses, and beliefs. And, there are hateful, mean people with all types of body art, jobs, hobbies, and talents.
Getting tattoos won’t make you a nice person.
Going to church doesn’t make you judgmental.
It’s so interesting how quickly some people judge Christians. Just about as quickly as some people judge tattoos.
Maybe we all have more in common than we thought.
