One of the things that I’ve enjoyed most about being a parent is introducing my kids to music. Now that Sawyer and Adelade have discovered Spotify, they’re constantly finding old music that is blowing their little minds. The day they first heard “Jesus Freak” was a great day in our house. And, seeing them walking around with their little tablets listening to Buddy Holly or Elvis or Keith Green is just too much fun.
I love sitting next to them in church during worship. I look down the row to watch them sing along, all of us praising God together, and I’m struck by what an incredible gift that music really is. God created so many things in this world for us to enjoy and to use as a means to know Him better and glorify Him more. He didn’t have to do that. But, He did, because He’s so incredibly good.

My girls love music and worship music is a staple in our house. I sang for a Praise and Harmony recording at 38 weeks pregnant with my last baby and she came exactly a week later. When she arrived, music and singing was one of the only things that would calm her spirit after the trauma of birth. My other little struggled with the arrival of sister and playing worship music while she goes to sleep saved us there as well. These would be a well over addition to our home!

These twins, along with their 3-year-old sister, are “snowflake babies,” meaning the parents adopted another woman’s frozen embryos that were left over from in vitro fertilization. On top of all that, they have a 1-year-old foster boy! So, believe me when I say they can definitely use Worship Lullaby!

I would give this to a dear friend, Bethany, who is a new mommy of a darling girl named Liora, meaning light. Bethany’s dad died over Labor Day this year while swimming with Bethany and her brother in the ocean. One of his favorites things to do was holding his granddaughter, Liora, on the porch swing at the ocean and singing worship songs to her. As my sweet young friend walks through this next year without her dad, I know worship songs will be an important part of her daughters life.
