Today I was taking a shower, a rare moment alone, when I heard a knock at the bathroom door. “Come in!” I called. It was Sawyer. I could see through the frosted glass his bouncing outline. He hopped into the room, and I waited to hear what was undoubtedly going to be his request for more cereal or a quick rundown of the cartoon that he had just watched. Instead, he sang out, “I just have one thing to say: I love you!”
And then he bounded out the door as quickly as he had come in. I breathed in the steam and let those words float around my head for a few minutes. Sawyer had stopped his little boy busy-ness because he felt that he had to come and let me know that he loves me. That’s all. Just I love you. Just everything. Just the reason that I wake up every morning whispering prayers of thanks that God blessed me with this life, this love.
My children teach me so much about God’s love. I honestly feel like Sawyer popping in to tell me he loves me is a little message from God Himself. Me, too, He whispers in His still, small voice. He shows me His love through my babies. When my eight year old daughter still wants to sit in my lap. I love you, He breathes. When the baby lights up as I walk into the room. I love you, He reminds me.
And Sawyer goes about his day having no idea that he has given me a glimpse of God. I suppose that’s what makes those moments so real and genuine. He is simply doing what his heart feels led to do. And God speaks.
I can’t think of a more lovely way for God to move in my life

How can I not love your wonderful words? Your husband and children are very fortunate to have you in their lives.
I listen to some of the best preaching there is, everyday. Many times your words are the most inspirational of all.
Keep on, you make a difference.

Thank you so much, Robert!
