Well, I have been a little bit sparse around here these days. Sorry about that, y’all! The kids got out of school early this year (hallelujah!), and we have been trying to settle into a summertime routine. But, things have been so busy that we haven’t really found our rhythm yet.
My lack of writing could also have something to do with the fact that Sawyer started his summer with the purchase of Super Mario Brothers. Yes, it’s the old version that I was playing in my brother’s room in the 80s. And, Sawyer and I have been playing as much Super Mario as we can get away with, so that has left me with less time to sit down and write to you. Sawyer dominates me in every possible video game out there, but for a short time I have the upper hand here because I have years of Super Mario experience on him. But, it won’t last long. Soon he will far surpass my skills, so I’m enjoying my reign while I can.
Other things include introducing Chad to every Jane Austen movie adaptation that’s out there. He loves them as much as I do, and this is something we just learned about each other in the past year. The movies are clean and beautiful and we generally cry at least once in each one. It’s hard to find decent movies that aren’t filled with naked women and horrible language, so we had just about quit watching movies. Then Amazon Prime saved the day. We love our movies filled with nothing but pretty outfits and pretty talking. Chad will love it that I said that.
I sort made the unconscious decision about a year ago to ease up on myself just a little when it comes to blogging, because I don’t want to forget or neglect the people here who need me and want me and love me. So, it’s always an exercise in finding a balance.
But, I have several things on my mind that I’m looking forward to writing to you about. I hope your summer is off to a great start. More tomorrow. Blessings to all!
Heather
Laughed out loud at this: “We love our movies filled with nothing but pretty outfits and pretty talking. Chad will love it that I said that.”
