Hey from preteen camp! Yes, I’m at preteen camp with my daughter who couldn’t possibly be a preteen. But, somehow she is. It’s her first year as a real camper, and even though she wanted all of her stuff packed separately, she still saved the bunk underneath hers for her one and only mama. I love this girl.
Last night I didn’t sleep much. All around me were the sounds of girls sleeping in their own weird ways. There was the sniffler, the throat clearer, the cougher, the tosser/turner, the sleep talker, and the giggler. And, at 4:55am, the five dollar watch that Adelade got at WalMart right before camp started beeping. And it kept beeping. And it wouldn’t stop. So, I got up, groping around in the dark for it until I finally found it, and I hit buttons until it hushed.
But, just to tease me, it beeped a few more times. I finally put it under my pillow and tried to go back to sleep. But, that was pretty much it. Because then I was focused once again on the sniffler, the throat clearer, the cougher, the tosser/turner, the sleep talker, and the giggler.
So, I would have to say that I’m glad the first night is over, and I’m looking forward to a fun day of camp with these great kids, including my own Adelade. I’m so glad I’m here.
Barbara.
Have fun. You will be blessed. Hope you get to sneak a nap today!!

“she still saved the bunk underneath hers for her one and only mama. I love this girl”.
This delightful statement gave me such a smile.
Enjoy the experience and have a “Smore” for me Melissa.
