I had so much fun this weekend at Living Hope Baptist Church in Garland. Thanks to those sweet ladies for inviting me to speak at their women’s conference. Here’s an action shot. I look like I’m about to try to catch marshmallows in my mouth. Don’t ask my why that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this picture. Maybe because I’m on a low carb diet, and it’s an everyday fantasy to imagine eating marshmallows with abandon? I promise I wasn’t weird at their event. I think.
I stayed with my dear friend Jaime, whose husband is the pastor of the church. She discovered an amazing picture of us from way back in 1997. This was our first day of classes my junior year, and I am completely wowed by how dressed up we were. I mean, I wore panty hose to my first day of school. And heels! And a really, really short skirt!
My hair was an issue, of course. My hair was completely out of control for all of my growing up years; I think I was around 24 years old when I got my first flat iron. Total life changer.
I have a couple of more speaking dates coming up in the next few weeks, and I’m so looking forward to them. It’s fun to meet sweet women and bond with them over the miraculous love of Jesus Christ.
I hope you know Him. He never, ever disappoints. Have a blessed Monday!
